Modern Chinese pre wedding photos in London

Christine and Liang’s contemporary pre-wedding photo shoot in and around Central London

Today I have a treat for you: Chinese couple Christine and Liang are to be married in Singapore later this year and contacted me a few months ago to arrange a full day’s pre wedding photo shoot in and around the Central London area. Having seen a previous engagement shoot I did in London a few months ago featuring Asian couple Tracey and Mike, Christine and Liang were keen to have their own take on things. With an 8 hour shoot ahead, Karen and I donned our creative heads and set out to meet our couple in Hyde Park…

Christine and Liang turned out to be a joy to photograph and seemed to enjoy the whole day immensely. We got a fantastic variety of photos from the shoot, ranging from formal posed photos to fun and funky creative informal shots, and all manner of styles in between. Locations included Hyde park, The Royal Albert Hall, Westminster and the Embankment, Big Ben, The London Eye, Knightsbridge, Harrods, The Queens Head pub, and a whole host of in between shots as we found anything cool, edgy or just plain fun to shoot with: great fun!

Want to view some? Ok, let’s take a look. We’ll start with this shot taken in Knightsbridge. I really enjoyed working in and around the city streets, and the urban environment lent itself perfectly to some really contemporary posing ideas for photos with just a bit of an ‘edge’ – and of course, the colours and people are a riot to play with. Take this shot below for example – bold, great colours and for me just edgy enough to make it really interesting to look at:

Next up, a shot from Hyde park by the fountains… again, a simple twist on a theme adds impact to this photo whilst keeping a romantic flavour:

…and for the purists out there, a simple shot to camera:

A quieter moment, and time for a little romance..?

Last one from Hyde Park… this is just such s simple shot taken in a small patch of Buttercups – but I absolutely love it:

So where else did we go…? How about a nice photo in front of the Royal Albert Hall?

I hope you’re enjoying these… London is great for seeing the sights, and that includes people as well as the landmarks. A scorching hot day, and people are out to play. This guy was good..!

Of course, a pre-wedding shoot isn’t a pre-wedding shoot without it’s fair share of romantic photos…

With this engagement shoot taking a full 8 hours in total, we stopped in Knightsbridge for a bite to eat. I thought this shot was very Metropolitan. Look closely, you’ll just about see little me in the reflection…

Shopping? No, no time for that – but a quick stop outside the iconic Harrods store gives us another creative, bold and contemporary photo opportunity:

Ummm… I took this photo as we were setting up for a shot to include the red phone boxes in it (another iconic and very ‘English’ site). Just what was happening right at this point though… I honestly have no idea! Sometimes things… just… happen…

Ok, let’s get back to business then. Can’t do a London Pre wedding photo shoot without including the London Eye. You’ll notice that after a quick stop off at home, our couple are now in full wedding atttire…

Ooh! Are you still here? that’s a lot of photos from one engagement shoot – but we really did cram in so many different shots into our day that I couldn’t help showing some off! I really must extend a big thanks to Christine and Liang for being such a great couple throughout the day, and I really hope you enjoy an absolutely brilliant wedding day in Singapore soon.
