Singer/rap artist/mixer Michael contacted me recently and explained that he was looking to have some high quality headshots taken for marketing and promotional purposes – so we arranged a shoot at my place to do just that. Upon arrival I also met Jen, who asked if we could also take a few modelling type pictures if we had time. Well time wasn’t a major issue that day, so that’s exactly what we did.

The session was a relaxed and fun one, with both Michael and Jen working well in front of the camera. We got some great pictures, and I was enjoying having a bit more space for this, only the 2nd shoot I’ve done in my new place since our recent move. Of course every location is very different to shoot in, with space being a major factor, but other things also affecting shoots such as wall colours, light placements and a whole host of other factors – so it was great to be shooting in my new space and ironing out some of those little niggles that can make the difference between a good and a great portrait. Indeed, I learned one lesson the hard way… Always remember if you have sloping ceilings behind you… Who’d be stupid enough to stand up on a stool, whack his head on a ceiling and promptly bash a hole in his nose with his camera when he forgot where he was then? One lesson learned. 😉
Hope you enjoyed the previews!
All the best,
Rob.
