Becky and Sam’s London Golf Club wedding was such a lovely day to shoot. That is to say, everyone was relaxed and a good time was top priority.
The day started at Becky’s family home in Shirley. A hint of a few wedding nerves, however, a cold glass of Prosecco helped with that…
Often things don’t run quite to plan on a wedding day and today was no different. In fact, today’s wedding had just a couple of minor hiccups, but nothing to spoil the big day. Firstly, the bridesmaids’ car didn’t arrive when it was time to leave for the church. This was easily sorted with a substitute car so it didn’t hold up proceedings. Then the heavens opened before the ceremony and the couple had booked a gorgeous open-top vintage car. However, Becky did not let this phase her. Nothing was going to spoil this wedding day!
The wedding ceremony
The ceremony was at the picturesque St. Bodophs Church, Sevenoaks. Unfortunately, the vicar didn’t allow photography during the wedding ceremony. As a wedding photographer, this is always somewhat frustrating – but thankfully doesn’t happen too often. We did, however, get pictures of the bride’s entrance, signing the register and the happy couple walking back down the aisle as man and wife. With beaming smiles all the way!
Meanwhile, during the ceremony, the sun decided to come out!
Wedding reception at the London Golf Club
The wedding party headed to the London Golf Club for their wedding breakfast. I have to say I think the best men did such a sterling job of their speech. In fact, it was a Benny Hill style video which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
Rob and I ventured onto the golf course with Becky and Sam in a couple of golf buggies for some lovely couple photos. Becky really wanted a photograph in front of the fountain. It was a tad blustery, to say the least! As I said, Becky wasn’t going to let anything spoil her day or take her smile away. She may have been windswept and had her heels sinking in the grass from the rain, but she kept on smiling the whole day long. A perfect bride on a perfect day!
