Right before Christmas on the 20th December 2008, Francesca and Mark were married at Emmanuel Church in Croydon, Surrey – and Kevin and I were lucky enough to photograph the event for the happy couple.
Photographing a winter wedding is always a challenge, with the weather being in the lap of the Gods… but Francesca and Mark were blessed with a glorious winter’s day throughout. The wedding was lovely, and the church looked especially beautiful with the Christmas lights and tree adding to the atmosphere. Francesca looked radiant, and the whole day was a huge success.
Want to see some photos? Here we go then. Let’s start with Francesca, right before leaving home for the church…

Here’s another shot of Francesca alone, inside the Church. I just love the warmth of this shot 🙂

The wedding reception was held at the nearby Whitgift School in Hayling Park, South Croydon. A little stroll around the school corridors late into the evening gave us a chance to take a few more photographs of our bride and groom, with a slightly different perspective to ‘normal’…

The last photo I’m going to show you today is one of Mark and the lads enjoying some celebratory cigars together. Taken right before we hit the road, the boys are all in good cheer with a good helping of friendly banter between them by this time, so this was another fun one to shoot;

Well that’s all for now! I hope you enjoyed the previews…
Do feel free to leave your comments, I’m sure the happy couple will love to read them! 🙂
All the best for now,
Rob.

I am getting married just after Christmas this year and was browsing the internet for other couple’s married in winter. Your photos are gorgeous and have put my mind at ease a bit because I am having a few panics about it being in the winter and it being too horrible for good photos.
Hi Ann-Marie,
Thanks for your comments. Yes, a winter wedding can be a challenge – but that doesn’t mean your photography has to look awful! Choose the right photographer carefully and you should be able to have some great winter wedding photos. Good luck with everything!
Rob.
