A few more children’s portraits today – and this time it’s the turn of 11 month old Ella, who came to have her baby portraits taken in our home studio in South Croydon. We’d originally planned for some nice outside environmental portraits for Ella, but the good old British weather decided otherwise – hence the much drier and more comfortable studio setup instead. The session was loads of fun – having shot Mum and Dad’s wedding for them 3 years ago, I already knew the shoot would be a pretty laid back affair… but I hadn’t prepared for quite so much laughter on the day as we had…

I discovered a new talent in Dad Chris, who delighted all in attendance with his unique renditions of Humpty Dumpty and a whole host of other nursery rhymes – and we got a whole heap of gorgeous photos of Ella, who sat, crawled, laughed and clapped her way through the entire session.

Who needs toys when there’s kitchen roll to shred?

Ella was such a sweet little model – so very cute, and with a really easy temperament. I have to admit, baby and toddler portraits can be… challenging… at times – but in truth they really are also lots of fun to shoot, and the resulting photos are priceless.
