Love and marriage… at the Preston Cross Hotel, Surrey

Today I’d like to share a few photos from Esther and Martin’s recent wedding at St Georges’ Christian Centre in Ashtead, Surrey followed by their wedding reception at the Preston Cross hotel at Bookham, Surrey – starting with a quick snap of Esther right after we arrived at the start of the day…

The next shot will tell you all you need to know about the day’s weather: apparently we’re officially enduring a period of drought right now – but I read somewhere recently that we’ve just had the wettest April in 100 years (and if I never see another drop of rain for the next 100 I think it will be too soon)!

Enough of my complaining though – because this wedding was a lot of fun to cover, for a variety of reasons…

Let’s move along to the Christian centre, where the marriage took place. As you can see, Esther was beaming all day 🙂

With a large proportion of wedding guests being deaf or hard of hearing, the entire wedding ceremony and much of the rest of the day was conducted with the aid of sign language interpreters so everyone could actively participate in the day – and I don’t think I’ve seen so many smiling faces all in one place for a long time. 🙂

I know what you’re thinking: go on… you can say it… Aaah.

Soon enough it was time to move on to the wedding reception. Love this quick grab-shot of Esther as the car rolled away…

A brief dry spell! Just enough time to take advantage for some photos before the rains came down again…

They love me. 😉

Entertainment came in the form of mime artist JJ, who delighted both adults and kids with his antics!

…although it has to be said that groom Martin had his moments, too!

An appreciative audience approves. 🙂

Finally, the evening was topped off by a very entertaining first dance followed by a barn dance, which looked to be a lot of fun for all those taking part.

Great stuff guys. Thank you for inviting me to photograph your wedding for you, and thanks to everyone for all their hospitality on the day. Full galleries will be available in our proofing section very soon.

All the best for now!

Rob.
