Today I’d like to take you back to last Saturday night for a few minutes, when I found myself at Effingham Golf Club, Surrey to record Chris’ 40th birthday party for wife Sarah.
Sarah said she didn’t want posed pictures, but preferred to have a selection of natural, candid photos with which to record the events of the evening – so that’s what we did.
The venue is a lovely place for a reception/party with dark wooden panels combined with candle-lit tables creating atmosphere in abundance: a tricky situation for photography to be sure, but one worth capturing as much as possible. In keeping with the ‘natural’ look for the pictures, I opted for fast lenses combined with a high iso, to try to minimise the use of flash when possible.
