Ok, following my Wales post from a few days ago, Karen informed me that that her waterfall picture is better than my waterfall picture – and who am I to argue the point?
Not wishing to get too deeply involved in the “Yours is better than mine” debate (Ok, I’m a coward) I thought.. why not throw it open, and let you decide on which is the better picture?
So.. below are two pictures, both of waterfalls. One was taken by my good self, and one was taken by my fair lady. I’m not going to tell you which is which – but I want your comments on which of these pictures you think is the better of the two. No prizes (Oh, don’t be so shocked!), just a bit of fun. Post your comments below. I’ll let it run until 31st May, then we’ll announce the victor!
Don’t be afraid to vote – it’ll only take 2 seconds, and all comments are welcomed. Here are the pictures. As is usual, you can click on them to see a larger version.
Waterfall number 1
Waterfall number 2
So… Which one of these is the best one? Click “Comments” to place your vote! (votes may take some time to be authorised… but they will appear in time)

Number 1
I prefer No. 1 – it is more colourful.
I’m going for No. 2. Thanks. N.
personal note I prefer No1 as a touch darker…. though the detailing in 2 I like…. very close call.. but No1
hmmmmm… coffee or tea!! depends which frame i have spare to fill… portrait or landscape…. lifes to short.
I’d have to say number 1, close call though if i am honest, number 1 looks more colourful and more detail
first pic was unrealistic but looked beter from distance, like a painting does
2nd was more realistic but content not so good
Therefore 2nd chosen
Keith
Close call but I have to say I prefer no. 1. In agreement with more detail
I say No 2
no 2
no 2
i deffogo with number two!! there both good but that one is just amazing 🙂 x
no1 looks much better
i like number 1 because of the colours
no 1 because the colours are better
no. 1 as clear picture and colours have been drawn out of rocks
Ok, well I like the composition of the first shot but I prefer the tonal range of the second. Heck, as it stands on these samples I’ll give it to picture No.2 Paul
Both are excellent – Prefer colour in No.1
Difficult one but if i was to hang one of them on my wall it would definately be No.1 in my eyes. (Ire)
prefer no 1
I prefer #2 as for me the closer version has more popboth good shots but pop has my vote ;>)
I prefer the rock formation in number 1 but the colour in number 2. Overall I would have to say number 2.
Ok I am going for number 2, reason being that when I immerse myself with it, I feel motion with a hint of blue, water to me is a metaphor for the fluidity of our emotions, which I believe has been captured in this – when I immerse with number 1, I get more of a static cold feeling, which there is nothing wrong with but it would feel more suited to a snow scene – as for visually I think they are both smashing!
Wow. Thank you Sue. I need to employ you to write my descriptions for me!
Rob. 🙂
I like Number one
I shouldn’t get involoved cos Kazza’s too competitive with photography but in the interests for fuelling the fire number one. Its more british as it has a moodier darker feel to it.
No1
number 2 has better composition and on my monitor it looks as though the middle rock at the back in 1 isnt sharp so for me number 2 is the winner
i have a slight preference for no 2. the first one looks as though it has been touched up a bit…i prefer a more natural look.
when do we find out which one was yours and which one was karen’s?
!
Hi,
We’ll tot up the results and announce the winner on Thursday 31st May!
Rob.
number 1
