Alexa and Paul’s De Vere Horsley Estate Wedding. A beautiful day in September was the backdrop for today’s Surrey wedding ceremony and reception. Both bride and groom were getting ready inside the main buildings. This allowed us to add both bridal preps and groom getting ready shots to the wedding photos. This is a great way to balance your wedding photography coverage. It also helps us tell the story of your wedding day really well when designing your wedding album for you!
With both bride and groom ready for the big event, it was time to begin the wedding ceremony! This was a lovely relaxed wedding ceremony, followed by drinks and canapes outside in the bright September sunshine.
After we’d taken some nice family portraits it was time for something else. We then headed back inside for some more intimate couple portraits inside the chapel and cloisters. The cloisters at Horsley Towers is one of our favourite locations for bride and groom portraits on a wedding day. They have a lovely open light there. Also, they provide a strong visual spectacle full of colour and depth. The chapel is a somewhat tricky location for wedding portraits… but worth it! This is because the light levels are very low. However, we added some careful supplemental lighting via our radio controlled remote flashes. This was the perfect solution for beautiful wedding photos inside the chapel.
Of course, we also took photos of the speeches after the wedding breakfast and continued right up to the first dance. This was a really lovely wedding day, and we were pleased to come home with a stack of gorgeous wedding photos for Alex and Paul’s beautiful wedding album!
