Located near Rochester in Kent, Cooling Castle Barn is a delightful venue full of real charm and character.
The venue consists of three barns - the Fathom barn where the actual wedding ceremony takes place, the Heritage Barn where guests can meet up and take a drink at the bar, and the Tither Barn (or Great Barn) where the wedding breakfast is held.
The venue sits in four acres of grounds, which gives us plenty of opportunities for some great photography during a wedding day. Each of the barns has it's own character, and are laid out beautifully by the friendly staff on wedding days.
if you're looking to get some great photography to capture the romantic charm of Cooling Barn, be sure to check that your photographer knows how to handle their low light photography well - because they're going to need to at this venue! All that atmosphere does come at a price - and that price is the amount of light available in some of the barns. That said, if the photography is handled well, you will be sure to get a selection of beautiful wedding photos for your day.

The Gardens, and outside areas
Outside, the gardens have both open and covered areas, so your guests can find some shade if they need to. The grounds are also scattered with some lovely old carts, which add to the natural rustic feel of the venue.

Cooling Castle is a great place to marry if you are looking for an exceptional venue that's just a little bit different from 'just' a hotel or similar. If you like a good dose of history, charm, tradition and atmosphere, then thiis might just be the place for you. Well worth a visit!
