Located just outside of Chiddingfold in Surrey, Ramster is a charming country venue with a very relaxed feel to it.

The venue consists of two main areas - the Long Hall and the Great Drawing Room . For wedding ceremonies, the Great Drawng Room is where the actual wedding service is held: an ornate and luxurious room, the Great Drawng Room boasts a rather opulent feel, but still manages to retain a sense of intimacy at the same time. Surrounded by paintings and lush furnishing, the Great Drawing Room also makes a great setting for a set of warm lush wedding photos.

Enclosed courtyard

Once the wedding ceremony is over, guests can retire to the private enclosed courtyard, which helps keep everybody together for drinks and chats - so it's easy for a bride and groom to mingle with their guests. The courtyard is tidy and well maintained, and also provides an area for a few formal photos of your guests.

The Long Hall

When it's time for the wedding breakfast, you'll enter the Long Hall. Here is a really charming room - 100 feet long, with a great Inglenook fireplace, and a dance floor at one end. Dressed for a wedding, the Long Hall looks really beautiful, and is finished off in true style by a series of twinkling draping lights overhead.

Photography-wise, Ramster can be something of a challenge - the Long Hall particularly, while setup beautifully for maximum atmosphere, is far from what you'd class as light and bright! Keep this in mind when choosing your photographer because he or she is going to need to have both the knowledge and equipment to be able to deal with this for a good chunk of the wedding day. You'll want somebody able to both light the venue sufficiently and retain the wonderful warm atmosphere of the venue - so be sure to look at some photographs taken at Ramster, or at a similar venue before booking your photographer.

Overall, Ramster is a charming venue with a lot going for it. Chiddingfold is a lovely leafy area of Surrey, and Ramster is a perfect countrry match for this. If you're looking for a pretty country venue with an intimate and friendly feel to the place, you could do well to drive down and take a look.
