Northbrook Park wedding photography: a review from a professional wedding photographer

Northbrook Park wedding venue is located at Farnham, right on the borders of Surrey and Hampshire. The venue is set in 120 acres of parkland and has well kept grounds with great views across the Hampshire countryside. The venue is a grade two listed estate, and is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, which take place in the impressive Vine Room of the main building. Once the wedding ceremony is complete, guests can enjoy the gardens then make their way to the Orangery for the wedding breakfast – or take a walk around the grounds to admire the open views, the lake or the peacocks that roam freely around the estate!

Accommodation is available in Northbrook Mews, so your bride can get ready without having to worry about travelling from one site to another – and once the wedding is underway everything is kept within a sensible area, with plenty of space for guests to enjoy the day but not too many places for them to wander off and get lost in!

Ceremonies in the Vine Room have an especially light and airy feel to them, courtesy of the tall windows lining each side of the room and the light colours of the decor. From a photographer’s point of view this provides an unusually bright ceremony location, with none of the problems so often associated with darker venues and their general lack of light. Photos taken here will have a delicate and open feel to them, ideal for summer. Once the ceremony is complete, the well maintained gardens provide a perfect setting for guests to enjoy champagne and nibbles, and have enough space to take a few nice formal photos without having to look elsewhere for a nice backdrop. Once the formals are done, a short walk with the bride and groom then gives ample opportunity for some beautiful wedding photos in the grounds of the estate.

When it’s time for the wedding breakfast your guests can enjoy the Orangery, another lovely bright area – it’s translucent roof letting in plenty of soft light from above where you can eat and then go on to enjoy your first dance as man and wife.

Overall, Northbrook Park is a lovely wedding venue with a very bright and airy feel to it. The grounds and gardens offer plenty of variety for some great wedding photography, and there are also enough sheltered areas to ensure that your friends and family will still be able to enjoy the day even you do experience some rain outside (but of course we’d still rather enjoy the sunshine)! If you’re looking for a wedding venue in the Surrey/Hampshire area I would certainly recommend paying a visit.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our review of Northbrook Park, and the pictures included. If you’d like us to photograph your Surrey or Hampshire wedding day we’d love to hear from you.![]()
