Langshott Manor review
Langshott Manor is a beautifully restored 16th century manor house located in a secluded country lane near Horley in Surrey, offering an ideal venue for an English country wedding. From the moment you arrive, it’s obvious this venue is a bit special – so if you’re looking for an intimate wedding venue with a quintessentially English feel to it, this could be the perfect place for you to tie the knot.

Inside the manor house, oak beams are in abundance, and the building has a warm and cosy atmosphere throughout. For a creative wedding photographer, there are plenty of little niches in which to take some beautiful romantic photos of a bride and groom – assuming they know how to work in low-light – more on that later!

Wedding ceremonies at Langshott feel intimate and personal, and are conducted in different rooms depending on how many guests are in attendance.

Although lovely and atmospheric, Langshott Manor is not the place to enlist a well-meaning friend to take your wedding photos – your photographer will need to be experienced in working in low-light environments and have a thorough understanding of how to expose to maintain the atmosphere in your wedding photos. Top quality equipment will help avoid spoiling the atmosphere with flash or getting dark, blurry or grainy photos – but do make sure your photographer can show you examples of work in low light levels, before booking. Handled properly, you should get some beautiful natural photographs to treasure forever – but be aware that this venue is technically challenging for the uninitiated!

Outside, Langshott Manor boasts some beautifully well maintained garden areas – perfect for Pimms on the lawn, and for photos of your family and friends as they enjoy the wedding reception.

Langshott manor invites beautiful romantic photos of the bride and groom that are just chock-full of atmosphere – particularly if your photographer can also compliment the existing warm lighting with the correct auxiliary equipment such as video light instead of flash, when needed.

Overall, if you’re after a modern and contemporary feel for your wedding, there are other wedding venues in Surrey that will suit you better – but if you’re looking for a beautiful venue steeped in atmosphere, with a romantic feel that’s full of history, Langshott Manor is well worth investigating!
