Now I know I’ve kind of said this before, but this time I really mean it (honest)… I’m going to try to make a point of entering the SWPP awards on a much more regular basis this year. The problem with this is there always seems to be something else to do first!
Well anyway, I’m at least starting with the best of intentions – and to that end I entered 7 images into the January round, to kick off the year. How’d I do? Well I got one Bronze award, 5 Silver awards, and a Gold award Can’t complain at that!![]()
Let’s take a look at the pictures I entered then…
First off, here’s Francesca on her wedding day last month – silver award winner. Actually, the version below is a slightly modified version of the image I actually entered – I’ve since fixed a few things that were bothering me about the image. Can you see what’s different from the original I posted a few weeks ago? Let’s see if anyone notices – comments at the bottom of the post!

Next up: here’s a lovely little portrait of a sweet little lad called Joshua, taken during a children’s portrait session a couple of months ago, which takes a bronze award. Cute.

Let’s see what next then… Here’s another recent photo – Liz and Alex on their pre-wedding photo shoot at Virginia Water takes a silver award in the monochrome section..

…and another picture taken from Francesca and Mark’s wedding day takes another silver award – this time from the contemporary wedding photography section.

And the next photo… Tiana and Daoud win a silver award in the traditional wedding photography section with this lovely warm image taken at Wentworth Golf Club…

…and finally… back we go to December again, here’s Mark and the boys enjoying a celebratory cigar – and picking up a Gold award from the wedding photojournalism section. Nice one.

Right that’s your lot, and quite enough self-ego stroking on my part!
I do hope you enjoyed looking at the photos again. Every one has a story for me, and I loved taking each and every one of them so it’s always fantastic to know that other people like them too.
…and I promise to (try to) enter more regularly and keep you all up to date on any future results as they come in!
All the best for now then,
Rob.
