Robert Hooper Photography bio picture

Welcome to the Blog!

Hi, I’m Rob and I provide top quality contemporary wedding and portrait photography throughout South East England - mostly but not exclusively in Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and Kent.

I’ve been taking pictures since I was 12 and still love it. There’s something almost magical about photography for me. My passion comes from taking great photos for both myself and my clients - and when I’m not taking photos for you there’s a pretty good chance I’ll still be out there taking them for myself.

My style is informal and relaxed. I don’t do ’stuffy and formal’ because that’s not me. I love to look for something different, with impact or simply something that makes you look twice to appreciate it.

My clients are for the most part young(ish!) friendly and fun. They’re after a photographer they can relate to and who’ll give them stylish modern pictures. Whether it’s weddings, portraits, kids, or even pets, they’re after top quality photos, not boring relics from the past! The old ‘rules’ do still apply (composition, lighting, technique) but are used in a modern, informal manner.

About me?

Well I’m a very proud Dad to Daniel and Katie, two of the best kids in the whole world. I live in Croydon with Karen and her son Wes, which is where I’ve been for a couple of years now having moved here from Sussex. In addition to bullying me and keeping me in line, Karen also takes a pretty mean picture herself. When we're not busy photographing, I sometimes get dragged out for walks, occasionally jump on my motorbike, and enjoy taking the kids out whenever possible.

Oh, and I love a good hot curry (but don't tell Karen, 'cos she thinks I'm too fat).

Ayo and Justice’s English wedding day

As promised, here are a few sneak previews from the second ceremony for Ayo and Justice.

Another long, but very enjoyable day with lots of colour and a sea of happy faces – not least, our bride and groom!

Here are a few photos for you then. We’ll start with Ayo, who looked… fantastic;

And Justice… blending in with the boys!

A nice church photo, with a bit of a difference…

…and a more traditional wedding ceremony photograph.

After the wedding ceremony, a short hop to a local park for some more photographs…

…before moving on to the reception at the Cavendish banqueting Suite, Edgeware. Here’s a shot of the cake: very impressive!

First dance was followed by lots more dancing and merriment!

…but that’s all I have for you right now.

Lots and lots more to come, and full galleries will soon be here:

Ayo and Justice English wedding ceremony

…but you’ll have to wait until Ayo and Justcice have had a look first!

Hope you enjoyed the previews. Comments welcome. :)

All the best for now,

Rob.
