Contemporary wedding photography at Marble Hill House & Hampton Court Palace

The marriage of Jennifer Appleby and Andrew Rulton at Marble Hill House in Twickenham, London with wedding reception at Hampton Court Palace, East Mosely in Surrey on Saturday 14th May 2011

Well and truly into our wedding season now, and we’ve been burning the midnight oil just to keep on top of everything! Today I’d like to show you a few previews from the wedding of Jennifer and Andrew, who were married at the impressive English Heritage sight of Marble Hill House before going on to the no less impressive Hampton Court Palace for their wedding reception. Karen and I met Jennifer in the nearby Carlton Mitre hotel where she was preparing for the big day, and ‘kicked off’ by snapping a few details such as the “redder than a very red thing” shoes pictured above, before going on to record the bridal preparations. Once ready, we then took a few bridal portraits of Jennifer – distracted only by spotting a bridesmaid’s car getting a ticket in the hotel car park as we posed Jenny by a window..!

Once ready, it’s off to the wedding ceremony. Andrew was very relaxed, looking forward to the events ahead. The ceremony room at Marble Hill House is not huge but feels opulent, surrounded on all sides by grand paintings and ornate furnishings, with a lovely light filtering through the large windows in front of the bride and groom.

 

After the wedding ceremony and some formal photos on the lawns outside, we headed off to Hampton Court Palace, where the wedding reception was to take place in the Garden room – but not before we managed to take a few minutes for some bride and groom photos both inside and out, finishing up literally just seconds before the first drops of rain began to fall:

Back inside, and it’s time for the wedding breakfast, speeches, then dancing…

I think that look during the first dance just about says it all.
