Lisa and Bill are due to be married on 5th July this year and have asked me to photograph their wedding for them in Southampton, Hampshire – and also wanted a pre-wedding photo shoot so we could get to know each other a little, and have a play with some photo ideas.
Since this was originally going to be a weekend off for me, it transpired that Kevin and I had a couple of extra ‘assistants’ in the form of my two kids, Daniel and Katie. The kids were very patient as we took our pictures- and so were rewarded afterwards with a trip to the funfair in nearby Southsea! A fair exchange, one might say (Oh, I know… that was dreadful wasn’t it?)
Anyway… back to the matter in hand! This was the first time I’d met Lisa and Bill, and I found them both to be most agreeable and open to suggestions for their photography. I’ll be looking forward to photographing the wedding for them in a few weeks time and I’m sure we’ll get some great shots. Let’s take a look at some pre wedding pics then. Here we are just outside the grounds of Portchester Castle not far from our couple’s home.

They look pretty good together I’d say. Here’s one of Lisa on her own…
…and one of Bill. I did a little ‘playing’ on this one, adding some texture and a nice sepia tone that I thought worked well for the picture.
Another shot together. By this time we’d managed to attract some attention from the locals, and both Lisa and Bill did a fantastic job of just ignoring them and carrying on regardless. Sterling stuff!
And finally, another shot together with more texture added - along with a heavy vignette to draw the eye in to our couple. A little different…
